Pate Films began as a shared passion between Bryan and Vanessa—a husband-and-wife team who never imagined they'd fall so deeply in love with filmmaking. What started with a simple camera and a creative spark quickly grew into a full-fledged business built on storytelling, relationships, and a desire to serve people well. With Bryan leading the technical side and Vanessa championing client connection and creative vision, they work together to craft films that are both beautiful and deeply personal. For them, it’s not just about capturing moments—it’s about telling beautiful stories.

BRYAN PATE

FOUNDER, LEAD FILMMAKER

Bryan is the lead filmmaker and editor at Pate Films, with over ten years of experience in videography. His journey began with a GoPro Hero 3—a humble start that sparked a deep passion for storytelling through video. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a lifelong pursuit, as he dove headfirst into learning everything from cinematography to editing and color grading.

What Bryan loves most about videography is the ability to tell meaningful stories in a way that’s both creative and authentic. He brings a strong technical eye, a cinematic style, and a genuine care for the people he films. Working alongside his wife Vanessa makes the experience even more special, and together they form a team that’s passionate about capturing moments that matter.

At Pate Films, Bryan focuses on filming, editing, and post-production—handling the creative and technical aspects behind the scenes. His easygoing nature and attention to detail help ensure that every film feels honest, beautiful, and worth watching over and over again.

VANESSA PATE

FOUNDER, COMMUNICATIONS LEAD

Vanessa is the co-founder of Pate Films and the heart behind the client experience. With a passion for people and a gift for connection, she manages all things communication—including social media, emails, consultations, and client relationships. She’s the first person most couples interact with and often the last one cheering them on as their film comes to life.

Though filmmaking wasn’t always on her radar, Vanessa quickly discovered how her skills and passions could flourish in this space. On wedding days, she works as a second shooter, capturing the emotional close-ups and small moments that bring depth to a story. Behind the scenes, she organizes footage, curates the best clips, and helps shape the creative vision before Bryan steps in for final editing.

Vanessa’s favorite part of the process is building real relationships with each couple. She sees every project as an opportunity to serve and love people well—something she and Bryan cherish deeply. For her, Pate Films is about more than just videography—it’s about doing meaningful work together and creating space for connection, beauty, and community.
